Why
To advance Greater Good within humanity
Why organize as a social enterprise?
Our social enterprise approach allows us to aim for self-sustainability (vise remaining donation-dependent) without the greed of aiming only for self-serving profits. We're then able to focus on positive change and charitable goals historically associated with non-profit organizations. This makes us more responsive, allows for quicker scalability, and facilitates the types of engagement we’ve set forth in our aspirational goals.
Our social enterprise model allows us the flexibility to be actively and directly responsive, without being tied to outside funding systems and their associated (often shifting) agendas. We hope to always respond to individual people, families, and communities of people with love.
Our social enterprise model prevents us from being over-committed. We only take on projects as profits allow for them to be taken on and scaled up.
We’re not subject to dependence on the whimsical ups and downs of government funding and their politically-driven, changing priorities. Likewise, profit inflows supporting the social enterprise theoretically have no limited upside for potential growth. With this model we’re not encumbered to established institutions of power, and remain financially sustainable through independence rather than reliance.
Our social enterprise model is actively responsive, even integrated with, those we serve. We walk with all our stakeholders - not from afar, but up close and personal (both paying customers and connected communities we serve). We engage with all involved, seeking righteousness and justice for all involved - employees, customers, communities, and underserved peoples.
Our social enterprise model gives us greater flexibility to innovatively create change, providing solutions to improve the lives of underserved and marginalized people.

A note regarding donations:
We recognize that sustained subsidies and dependance solely on charitable giving is difficult to maintain over long periods of time and don’t want for our operations to be dependent on donations. That said, we do welcome and give great joy for any donations offered and hope to put them to careful, prudent, efficient use - but intend to go about our business as if nothing will ever be donated.
We’re also not definitively ruling out the acceptance of development aid from wealthy nations in order to help advance projects - but we will not be structured in such a way as to ever wholly depend on this type of aid and also won’t compromise our moral and ethical beliefs in order to obtain such aid (both of which will likely rule out acceptance of such aid).
